Tesimonials:
These are some
unedited testimonials that students of the London School of Guitar have
written:
From David Ryan Huff (Professional Dancer (High School Musical) and
aspiring guitar hero:
If you are looking to pluck a few chords then turn the other way... but if you are looking to learn how to play the guitar, and I mean REALLY learn it: then Johnny has exactly what you are looking for!
I had wasted my time for what seemed like forever, futilely trying to make anything I did sound good, but it wasn't until I first met Johnny that it all started to make sense!
He helped unlock the creative genius in me by improving my confidence, knowledge and technique on the guitar. But it turned out to be way more than that. I had taken no ordinary guitar lesson, but embarked on a journey to improve my life!
Through Johnny's contagious optimism, constant encouragement and his VERY thorough knowledge of the guitar, I found my whole world improving, not to mention my guitar skills! I found myself in a place I'd only dreamed of: ROCKING OUT!!
From Heidi Hull: (Rope or Bullets)
JOHNNY - SOMEHOW COMBINING TEACHING THE GUITAR AND MUSIC WITH LIFE'S
PHILOSOPHIES. I HAD OTHER TEACHERS THAT RUINED MUSIC FOR ME BUT HE
GENUINELY CARES ABOUT WHO YOU ARE AND THE DIRECTION YOU ARE GOING. ONCE
YOU GET A LITTLE TASTE - YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK. FIGHTING FOR THE
GREATER GOOD AT THE SPEED OF SOUND.....
From McKail Seely:
I have been singing and performing for about 7 years now, and I just
recently decided to take up guitar lessons. So I asked my performance
coach if she knew anybody that could help me. Then she began to tell
about Johnny, and how she always sends all of her students to him,
because he is so AMAZING at teaching the guitar! So, now I have been
taking lessons with Johnny for about 3 months, and I have already
learned so much! Not only is Johnny teaching me all about the guitar,
he is also teaching me how to be a better person in life by always
being positive and teaching me that everything is EASY.
From Greg Jex:
Ever since I was a child I have always loved music and always wanted to play the guitar. For one reason or another I had always found an excuse not to pursue it. I figured out one day that if I didn't at least try to play the guitar it would be something I would regret. I was fortunate enough to find Johnny through Craigslist.
Johnny is a gifted musician as well as a natural teacher. Learning as an adult is different than learning as a child. Johnny has done an excellent job of tailoring the lessons to meet my needs and desires. I am able to choose the songs we work on. Being able to play songs I know and love has helped to maintain my motivation. The guitar has become an important part of my life. It provides hours of enjoyment and stress relief.
From Michael Moncur:
I've been a musician and keyboard player for years, so when I bought a guitar, I imagined I'd teach myself to play it quickly. Two months later, I had managed to learn a few chords, but couldn't play any songs. The guitar was nothing but frustrating, and I was ready to give up.
Fortunately, I started guitar lessons with Johnny London. His skilled teaching and motivation had me learning entire songs after a couple of lessons, and within a few months I was doing things I'd considered "impossible," like barre chords.
I have shaky hands, which I thought would seriously limit my ability to play, but Johnny taught me exercises to learn better control of my fingers, and now the shaking hardly ever slows me down.
Johnny's a great player, and a very patient teacher, but best of all his positive attitude makes me really want to play well and keeps me practicing. In the first lesson, he told me never to use the word "can't." After watching one "impossible" technique after another become possible, and then easy, I've learned to think "I can."
You might feel like you'll never be a great guitarist now, but after a few lessons from Johnny (and lots of practice) you'll feel like you can accomplish anything.
From Keri Fakata: (38 Year old Health Care Professional)
Back in February of 2008 I was inspired to take up the guitar again after 25 years. My previous experience was short and unappreciated back in my grade school days. Now I am a 38 yo healthcare professional who spends a great deal of my life helping those who are ill and suffering. I decided to take up guitar to give something back to myself, to foster the creativity I once knew before adult life intervened.
I found Johnny, luckily by Googling guitar instructors in Salt Lake City Utah. He returned my call with great enthusiasm in his voice and that same enthusiasm continues throughout each and every weekly lesson.
I have made great strides in a short period of time with Johnny's unique teaching techniques. Johnny provides me with technical exercises to help grasp the chords and songs that are incorporated into each lesson. When combined together in practice this imprints into the brain and creates memory of the instrument in the fingertips.
I have found with each lesson and practice session a place of focus, contentment and creativity. It is hard to describe, but it is an incredible feeling you get when you hear the music you are creating!
From Wyatt James:
Studying guitar at the London School of Guitar was one of the most rewarding adventures of my life. Johnny is a first class instructor and was able to answer any question I ever came up with. He seemed to know almost any song I wanted to learn, or he could pick it up in just a few minutes of listening to it. Johnnys studio is very cozy and sets a great environment for learning. Having studied with Johnny I am well on my way to becoming the shredding lead guitarist that I know I can be.
From The Barton Family:
He is more than a teacher, yet he is a teacher that offers much needed structure for his students. He is a teacher that while organized and prepared, also offers ad lib instruction that seems to motivate the student. He is a teacher that pushes each student to the best of their ability.
More than a teacher, Johnny, offers inspiration. Students are counseled in practical ways, such as wrist position and strum but as important, they are counseled to only use positive words. They are asked to see the good in what they do. They are asked to try harder and they are promised they will improve.
Johnny approaches teaching with a unique sensibility. He is richly talented in his own right and just watching him play the guitar makes you want to grab one and learn it yourself or learn it better. He shares this ability to influence for the good in each of his lessons.
I would recommend hour long lessons in order to get the most of the experience each week. If it is your child that will be taking guitar with Johnny, he or she will benefit more than just by improving on the guitar, they will also improve on their appreciation of themselves and their own abilities.
Guitar is an instrument that requires passion. Johnny shares that passion with his students. And that is what makes all of the difference.
From Tyson Fawcett:
Since starting lessons with Johnny, not only have I noticed a significant improvement in my guitar playing, but so have my friends and family. People started commenting on my progress within a couple of weeks!
Johnny is giving me the direction I needed to get past my
personal plateaus as a guitar player. Lessons are customized to fit my
needs and I find myself gaining more and more confidence in my
abilities and knowledge every week. I would highly recommend Johnny to
anyone serious about getting better at the guitar.
